Summary

Archie's second original graphic novel features the world of CW's Riverdale! Four interconnected stories trap each of our main characters in a unique high-stakes conflict over the course of a few pressure-cooker hours!

Jughead's locked in and left behind with Moose at Stonewall Prep, Veronica is trapped with Cheryl at a nearby suburban shopping mall, Betty and Polly are stalked by a possible madman when a girls' night goes horribly awry and Archie is held hostage by a 'long lost relative' of Fred's who's come to town seeking payback of any and every kind。

Will Archie and company even make it to sunrise? If they do, will they ever be the same again?

Actually better written than most episodes of Riverdale, so it's got that going for it。 Still hoping they will acknowledge ace Jughead at some point。 Pictures were pretty, content is what one might expect from a teen drama trainwreck。 Actually better written than most episodes of Riverdale, so it's got that going for it。 Still hoping they will acknowledge ace Jughead at some point。 Pictures were pretty, content is what one might expect from a teen drama trainwreck。 。。。more

I was given a free e-arc of this book by Edelweiss+ and the publisher in exchange for my honest review。I read all Riverdale-show-specific comics and graphic novels。 I absolutely love them。 Typically they are released in conjunction with the point in time that the show is in, but due to COVID delaying everything, this book was delayed a year or so and therefore takes place in the fourth season of Riverdale while we are in the fifth on tv。 It was a little weird reading this story so late but that I was given a free e-arc of this book by Edelweiss+ and the publisher in exchange for my honest review。I read all Riverdale-show-specific comics and graphic novels。 I absolutely love them。 Typically they are released in conjunction with the point in time that the show is in, but due to COVID delaying everything, this book was delayed a year or so and therefore takes place in the fourth season of Riverdale while we are in the fifth on tv。 It was a little weird reading this story so late but that is nobody's fault。 Life happened。I thought this was a cute addition to the Riverdale comic universe。 It read similarly to the others, being focused on one character's experience in each chapter and coming together in the end。 Some earlier Riverdale comics didn't come together as smoothly as this one did。Overall, an enjoyable read for anyone who enjoys Riverdale and the characters and wants to spend a little more time with them。 。。。more

Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica all have encounters with a strange cult over the span of a few hours。 Jughead and Moose are locked in their school library。 Archie and Reggie are trapped in an escape room at school。 Betty and her sister are stalked by a madman to an empty motel。 Veronica and Cheryl are chased around a closed shopping mall。 Each of these separate incidents are all connected to the same cult。This was a great fast paced graphic novel。 It was short, at just over a hundred pages, Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica all have encounters with a strange cult over the span of a few hours。 Jughead and Moose are locked in their school library。 Archie and Reggie are trapped in an escape room at school。 Betty and her sister are stalked by a madman to an empty motel。 Veronica and Cheryl are chased around a closed shopping mall。 Each of these separate incidents are all connected to the same cult。This was a great fast paced graphic novel。 It was short, at just over a hundred pages, so I didn’t expect it to have such a detailed story。 Each of the four main characters had a complete story told about their night being terrorized。 Even though these stories were separate incidents, they were all connected by a group with the same cult tattoos。The details of this group behind these events weren’t given so I hope there will be a sequel。 Each of the incidents were connected, and some of the background of why they were being targeted was given, but I would have loved if there was a clearer solution。 I hope there will be another graphic novel that explains this group who targeted Jughead and his friends。I really enjoyed this graphic novel。Thank you Penguin for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Having never watched Riverdale, I can’t be sure how much of this ties into the show, but there is definitely a bit of prior knowledge required to be fully understood。 That being said, the mini tales within the novel were interesting and were linked well with wonderful graphics。

Four different stories told in very quick succession。 Jughead and Moose get trapped in the library where they discover that there is a sinister secret mystery lurking in the school。 Betty and her younger sister Polly are besieged by some dark characters after being run off the road and stuck at a crappy hotel。 Archie and Reggie get pitted against each other in the basement of the school。 Veronica and Cheryl expecting a quick and lucrative visit to the mall get overrun by zombies。 All leading to Four different stories told in very quick succession。 Jughead and Moose get trapped in the library where they discover that there is a sinister secret mystery lurking in the school。 Betty and her younger sister Polly are besieged by some dark characters after being run off the road and stuck at a crappy hotel。 Archie and Reggie get pitted against each other in the basement of the school。 Veronica and Cheryl expecting a quick and lucrative visit to the mall get overrun by zombies。 All leading to a dark plot against the kids of Riverdale。 Fast paced and beautifully colored。 I'm sure there will be more to this story, but it happened too fast and was over too quickly。 Really would have liked to have a little more with each story as you don't get to see the characters as the characters。 Also, this new twist on Riverdale kind of leaves me wanting more of the old school characters。 Great for adding to your young adult graphic novel collection。Copy provided by Edelweiss。 。。。more

It's not my first Micol Ostow read and also not my first Riverdale read。 However, it is my first Riverdale graphic novel。 I enjoyed it a lot! It was different from the author's other Riverdale books, but I did enjoy it just as much! There was excitement, various storylines and it ended with a cliffhanger that made me want to read more。 I genuinely hope that there will be a sequel! The only *negative* note that I have, is that the prologue felt a bit rushed。  Thank you to Edelweiss and the author It's not my first Micol Ostow read and also not my first Riverdale read。 However, it is my first Riverdale graphic novel。 I enjoyed it a lot! The dark colors of this comic and the odd, almost alien pigments of the pictures makes it clear that this Riverdale is a dark space and there is no safety in dark spaces。 Like the CW show, but even darker。

As you might know, I love Riverdale。 And while some of the content, either in the show or the novels and graphic novels that accompany the show, disappoint me a lot I still want to try almost everything。 So when I saw this one on Edelweiss I was quite excited。 Micol Ostow wrote a couple of Riverdale novels and I have to say they weren’t exactly what I was hoping for, but this graphic novel was a lot better!I really liked the art work, apart from Veronica everyone looked like their tv show counte As you might know, I love Riverdale。 And while some of the content, either in the show or the novels and graphic novels that accompany the show, disappoint me a lot I still want to try almost everything。 So when I saw this one on Edelweiss I was quite excited。 Micol Ostow wrote a couple of Riverdale novels and I have to say they weren’t exactly what I was hoping for, but this graphic novel was a lot better!I really liked the art work, apart from Veronica everyone looked like their tv show counterparts。 And let’s be honest, if you’re picking up this graphic novel it’s probably because you like the tv show haha。 This takes place somewhere around the first half of the fourth season。 You might recognise some of the storylines but in general this takes place besides the show。 It contains it’s own storyline and really added something。You could say we got four separate storylines that are connected on a higher level。 I would definitely love to get another volume because we don’t really get answers to the overall arc of the story。 This graphic novel definitely exceeded my expectations and was very enjoyable。BLOG INSTAGRAM TWITTER YOUTUBE PINTERESTI received this book for free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review。 This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review。 。。。more

The artwork is gorgeous and that alone would have made me appreciate this graphic novel, but the stories were also very good, well-written and full of drama and tension。Thank you to Edelweiss and Archie Blue Ribbon for the review copy provided in exchange for an honest opinion。
